Images Of Sony “Yuga” Prototype Surfaces

It’s no secret that Sony has a superphone in the works for 2013, but it appears that we now have an idea of what this device may look like. Thanks to some leaked images from Mobile Review, you can see how the Sony “Yuga” looks in plain view— and she sure is a beauty too. Similar to the Nexus 4 or LG Optimus G smartphones (as well as previous renderings we had seen before), the device is almost entirely coated in a glassy-type material coupled with a sleek black finish.

Ice Cream Sandwich update for Xperia P, Xperia U, Xperia go, and Xperia sola, brings performance updates and bug fixes

Today, Sony began rolling out an update to Ice Cream Sandwich for the Xperia P, Xperia U, Xperia go and Xperia sola devices that’ll come packed with ‘bug fixes’ and ‘performance tweaks.’ It’s unclear what exactly those tweaks are, but who among us doesn’t like a little tweaking?

Images leak for the Sony C6603 ‘Yuga’

We reported about a new Sony beast dubbed the “Odin” or C650X (the X gets replaced with a number) from a leaked agent profile and shortly after, an image leaked. Now we have images of a C6603 compliments of German site Android Schweiz, with a codename “Yuga”. I am assuming this is the same phone, but with a new bump in the model number. The specs seem the same as anticipated, 5-inch 1080p display, 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB of RAM, and running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Miracast streaming, other additions coming to Sony Xperia T/TX via latest update

We discussed Miracast, the newest player in the streaming video segment earlier this year. It’s a segment that’s been around for a while that Android is playing catch up with, as it were. As a refresher, Miracast is similar to Samsung’s DLNA feature and a more recently announced feature of the Nexus 4 coupled with Android 4.2, which allows a person to mirror the images straight from a phone or tablet to a display over WiFi. This week a software update is beginning to roll out in Europe and Asia for the Xperia T/TX which includes this streaming functionality.

Sony Announces It Will Resume Production Of The Xperia Tablet S In Mid-November

You all remember how Sony had to abruptly halt the sales of its Xperia Tablet S models due to some wardrobe malfunctions? Well Sony Japan has confirmed that will resume production of the models by mid-November, meaning we should see the tablet models back in retailers by the holiday season. In addition to that, Sony Japan has also confirmed that it is still honoring free inspections and repair service of the tablet models in most markets, so if you’re an owner and think you may be affected— you can take the tablet to a local Sony retailer and have the device inspected and/or repaired— free of charge.
