Galaxy S21 is projected to go live in January?

Samsung Galaxy S21 is the next big launch in the mobile industry, and it’s also expected to be one of the first new smartphones going live in 2021.

And it’s all because the South Koreans want to bring it to the market earlier than usual, especially as its predecessor hasn’t sold exactly as anticipated.

There are many reasons the Galaxy S20 didn’t perform as well as expected, but the main is the one that kept us locked indoors for the last 10 months or so.

Due to the pandemic, the smartphone market declined substantially, and the Galaxy S20 launched exactly at the worst possible time. So people could no longer go to a store to try out the Galaxy S20, which means the sales mostly relied on online experiences.

But now the Galaxy S21 is ready to go live, and here are three essential things you need to know about it.

Launching in January
This time, the Galaxy S21 will go live in January, an unusual pick for Samsung given the company typically launched its Galaxy S models in February.

Previously, the timeline came down to the official launch in February and a March kickoff for sales. This is changing for the Galaxy S21, which is projected to see the daylight on January 14 and then go live for customers later the same month, possibly on January 29 or 30.

This is because Samsung wants to give this new model more exclusive time on the market, but also because the company needs a quick response to the recently launched iPhone 12. The Galaxy S20 is no longer considered a new-generation product since it’s already approximately one year old, so Samsung needs a new model to counter the iPhone 12 frenzy.

If the timeline is right, we should be able to get our hands on the Galaxy S21 in approximately one month, so expect Samsung to share some official details as soon as the next week.

Coming with support for the S Pen
One of the biggest upgrades on the Galaxy S21 is support for the S Pen on the Ultra model. This is because Samsung is reportedly planning to give up on the Note series, and moving the S Pen to the Galaxy lineup is one big step in this regard.

Of course, the South Koreans haven’t said a single thing about their Note plans, though the company did suggest the S Pen is coming to the Galaxy S21.

Three models in the lineup
Just like before, the Galaxy S21 will come as a three-model lineup, so we’ll get the standard S21, the S21+, and the S21 Ultra. The Ultra will obviously be the top of the range, and will come with the best camera setup, the larger screen, and the biggest amount of storage.

The S Pen support will be exclusive to the Ultra model, though worth knowing is that this accessory won’t be included in the box and only sold separately. No slot for carrying it with the phone would be offered either.
